At Mirzoyan Canadian Immigration Services, we support clients through every stage of the Canadian citizenship process. Whether you're applying for the first time, seeking to replace a citizenship certificate, or trying to determine your eligibility, our team provides clear, personalized guidance to ensure a successful application.
Benefits of Canadian Citizenship
Becoming a Canadian citizen offers many rights and privileges that are not available to permanent residents, including:
The right to vote and run for public office
Access to a Canadian passport for visa-free travel to numerous countries
Full protection under Canadian law and the Charter of Rights and Freedoms
No need to renew status or carry a valid PR card
Opportunities for your children to automatically acquire citizenship if born in Canada
Am I Eligible for Canadian Citizenship?
To apply for Canadian citizenship, you must meet several criteria, including:
Holding permanent resident (PR) status in Canada
Living in Canada for at least 1,095 days (3 years) in the past 5 years
Meeting personal income tax filing requirements, if applicable
Demonstrating adequate knowledge of English or French (if you are 18-54 years old)
Passing a citizenship test that assesses knowledge of Canada’s history, values, institutions, and symbols (for applicants aged 18-54)
Replacing or Updating a Citizenship Certificate
If your Canadian citizenship certificate is lost, damaged, or needs to be updated due to a name change or other correction, our team can assist in preparing and submitting a request for a new certificate. We ensure all supporting documents meet IRCC’s standards and keep you informed throughout the process.
Citizenship for Children and Foreign-Born Canadians
Children born abroad to Canadian parents may already be citizens and eligible for a proof of citizenship. We help families gather the necessary documentation and file the correct applications to confirm citizenship status.
We also support applications for adopted children under the citizenship process and can advise on the differences between the citizenship and immigration pathways for minors.
