PR Card Renewal Services

Keep Your Permanent Resident Status Active and Up-to-Date

A valid Permanent Resident (PR) card is essential for traveling in and out of Canada and serves as proof of your status within the country. If your PR card is expired or about to expire, renewing it in a timely manner is crucial. At Mirzoyan Canadian Immigration Services, we help you navigate the renewal process with ease and accuracy to avoid delays and complications.

Who Should Renew Their PR Card?

You may be eligible to renew your PR card if:

  • Your card has already expired or will expire within the next 9 months.

  • Your card was lost, stolen, or damaged.

  • You legally changed your name or your card contains incorrect information.

  • You need a valid PR card to travel back to Canada or to demonstrate your status.

Important Notes Before Applying

Renewing your PR card does not mean reapplying for permanent residency. You must already have valid permanent resident status in Canada to be eligible for renewal. Also, you must meet the residency obligation—which requires being physically present in Canada for at least 730 days (2 years) within the last 5 years before applying.

Our immigration professionals can:

  • Assess your eligibility for PR card renewal

Urgent Processing for PR Card Renewal

If you require your PR card urgently—such as for imminent international travel or for employment, health, or compassionate reasons—you may request urgent processing from IRCC. To qualify, you must:

  • Provide a valid reason for urgency (e.g., booked travel, job offer, medical appointment)

  • Include proof such as flight tickets, employer letters, or medical documentation

  • Clearly indicate your need for urgent processing in your application cover letter

Keep in mind that urgent requests are reviewed at IRCC’s discretion and are only granted when sufficient documentation is provided. Our team can help strengthen your urgent request by ensuring all requirements are clearly outlined and professionally submitted.
