Express Entry Canada
Your Pathway to Permanent Residence
Canada's Express Entry system offers a streamlined route for skilled workers to attain permanent residency. By evaluating candidates based on factors like age, education, work experience, and language proficiency, Express Entry ensures that those most likely to succeed in Canada are prioritized.
What Is Express Entry?
Express Entry is an online application management system used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to process applications for three main economic immigration programs:
Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP): For individuals with foreign work experience and education.
Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP): For skilled tradespeople with qualifications in specific trades.
Canadian Experience Class (CEC): For those with at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada.
Candidates may be eligible through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which allows provinces and territories to nominate individuals who meet specific regional labor market needs.
Understanding the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
Candidates in the Express Entry pool are ranked using the Comprehensive Ranking System, which assigns points based on:
Core Human Capital Factors (up to 500 points): Age, education, language proficiency, and Canadian work experience.
Skill Transferability Factors (up to 100 points): Combination of education, foreign work experience, and language skills.
Additional Factors:
Provincial Nomination: 600 points.
Candidates with the highest CRS scores receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence during periodic draws.
Steps to Apply Through Express Entry
Determine Eligibility: Ensure you meet the criteria for one of the three economic immigration programs.
Create an Online Profile: Provide information about your skills, work experience, language ability, education, and other personal details.
Enter the Express Entry Pool: Once your profile is submitted and deemed eligible, you'll be placed in the pool of candidates.
Improve Your CRS Score: Consider ways to enhance your score, such as improving language test results or obtaining a provincial nomination.
Receive an ITA: If selected, you'll have 60 days to submit a complete application for permanent residence.
Application Processing: IRCC aims to process most Express Entry applications within six months.
Why Choose Express Entry?
Efficiency: Streamlined process with faster processing times.
Transparency: Clear criteria and regular updates on draw results.
