Armenian Spousal Sponsorship Fees and Processing Times
IRCC charges the same government fees whichever country your partner lives in. For a spouse or partner with no dependent children, the fees total $1,260, plus $85 for biometrics if required. Our spouse sponsorship fees guide explains each charge.

How long does it take to sponsor your spouse to come to Canada?
It depends on the route and on whether your partner will live in Quebec. IRCC's processing-times tool shows the current estimate, which changes as queues move. IRCC returns incomplete applications, so a missing Armenian labour-book page or an electronic police certificate can cost months. Hiring a consultant does not make IRCC process a file faster.
How much does it cost to sponsor a spouse to Canada?
IRCC's government fees for a spouse or partner total $1,260, plus $85 for biometrics if required. Most sponsorships outside Quebec have no minimum income requirement, but you sign an undertaking to support your partner. Budget separately for medical exams, translations, Armenian certificate charges and professional fees. Quebec sets its own financial rules.
How do I obtain a police clearance certificate in Armenia?
Apply for a criminal record certificate through the Consular Department of Armenia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs. You can apply online, in person or through a representative with power of attorney. The certificate must show every name used in Armenia. Keep the paper original and upload a copy to IRCC. Electronic certificates and printouts of online searches are not accepted.
Can Armenian citizens apply for a Canadian visa?
Yes. Armenian citizens need a visitor visa to visit Canada, and they apply online with IRCC. A pending sponsorship does not stop your partner from applying, because Canadian law allows a temporary stay alongside a permanent residence application. The officer must still be satisfied your partner will leave when their visit ends. A visitor visa does not allow work in Canada.
What documents can I use to prove my marriage for immigration to Canada?
Start with the civil marriage certificate issued through Armenia's civil-status system. A church certificate does not replace it. IRCC also asks both of you to describe the relationship on IMM 5532. Photos, messages and joint records then support what you wrote. If either partner was married before, add the Armenian record showing that marriage ended.
