Frequently asked questions
Can Armenian citizens apply for a Canadian visa?
Yes. Armenian citizens can apply for a Canadian visa and must meet the requirements for their purpose of travel. Armenian passport holders generally need a visitor visa for a short visit. Check IRCC’s entry requirements against the documents you hold: Canadian permanent residents and US lawful permanent residents follow different travel-document rules. A visitor visa does not grant permanent residence.
What is the easiest program to immigrate to Canada?
There is no single easiest program for applicants from Armenia. The right option depends on your work history, education, language results and family circumstances. For example, the Federal Skilled Worker Program requires at least one continuous year of qualifying work within the past ten years. Meeting a program’s minimum requirements is a starting point for assessing your options, not a promise of approval.
Can I immigrate to Canada without a job offer?
Yes, some immigration programs accept eligible applicants without a job offer. IRCC lists no job-offer requirement for the Federal Skilled Worker Program or Canadian Experience Class. For an applicant living in Armenia, the distinction is work history: the Canadian Experience Class requires qualifying Canadian work experience, while the Federal Skilled Worker Program can consider foreign experience. Other requirements still apply.
How much money will I need to immigrate to Canada?
Your budget depends on the program, family size and services you need. Separate application expenses from settlement funds, which remain your money. Under Express Entry’s proof-of-funds rules, family size includes a spouse or partner and dependent children even when they will stay in Armenia. Required bank letters also show debts and average balances for the past six months. Professional fees are separate from government charges.
Does Canada have an embassy in Armenia?
Yes. Canada has an embassy in Yerevan, but its official services page says it does not provide visa or immigration services. Use the relevant IRCC application process and follow your application instructions. The embassy page directs applicants to a visa application centre for biometrics and to the IRCC web form for visa-office enquiries. An embassy appointment is not an immigration consultation.
