Federal Skilled Worker Consultant North York
Federal Skilled Worker Consultant North York services help you review work, education and language evidence for an FSW application.
And foreign experience may support your application even if you already live in Canada.
Before profile preparation, check the evidence behind your primary occupation and the 67-point selection threshold.
But eligibility does not guarantee an Express Entry invitation.
✓ Check work continuity and the primary occupation
✓ Review education, language and funds evidence
✓ Define profile preparation and application support
Who is this service for
The service fits candidates who need FSW advice or application preparation, whether their qualifying work was in Canada or abroad.
Skilled workers relying on foreign experience
You plan to rely on paid skilled work outside Canada and need to establish the primary occupation and qualifying period.
And records from former employers, foreign education and language testing may need attention before creating a profile.
North York residents reviewing their FSW eligibility
Living in North York does not automatically make CEC the relevant program, because foreign experience may support FSW eligibility.
Choosing a program can feel confusing when your strongest work record comes from another country.
Review the actual requirements before deciding which service fits your circumstances.
Invited FSW candidates
You have an FSW invitation and need to prove the information in your profile within the application deadline.
Decide whether you need preparation and representation or a separate review of your own application.
And the invitation is valid for 60 days, so identify records still missing early.
What Federal Skilled Worker Application Support Includes
Retained FSW support includes initial profile creation and the subsequent application work specified in the written agreement.
And the review connects your claimed qualifications with the records you provide.
01 Assess FSW eligibility
Review the minimum work, education and language requirements, then the FSW selection factors. But separate the 67-point program test from Express Entry ranking. And a selection-factor result does not establish when you will receive an invitation.
01
02 Match work records to the primary occupation
Identify a qualifying continuous period in the same NOC as your primary occupation. And compare dates, hours, pay and actual duties with employer evidence. Your primary occupation need not be your most recent job, because the official work criteria determine what can count.
02
03 Check education and language evidence
Review the immigration educational credential assessment (ECA) when relying on foreign education, together with the credential it assesses. And check language scores in each ability and both documents' validity at profile creation and submission. But an assessment for professional licensing is not automatically an immigration ECA.
03
04 Prepare the initial Express Entry profile
Prepare the initial profile as part of retained FSW application support. And enter the qualifications supported by your records and review changes before an invited application. For representation, use the IRCC Portal for authorized paid representatives, rather than sharing your personal GCKey credentials.
04
05 Prepare the invited application
Prepare the electronic application for permanent residence and the personalized document checklist. And compare the declared work and education with supporting evidence, and address funds requirements or a supported exemption. IMM 5476 records the appointment of a representative where required. And you remain responsible for providing complete and accurate information.
05
06 Post submission support
Discuss additional work when an IRCC request falls outside the correspondence and responses covered by your written service agreement. But neither representation nor complete document preparation guarantees permanent residence.
06
Choose the support you need
Select preparation, a review or advice according to what you have already completed and what remains uncertain.
FSW application representation
If you need help preparing the file from the profile stage, retained FSW support includes initial Express Entry profile creation.
The agreement identifies the invited application work, client responsibilities and post-submission support.
Confirm those terms before committing to representation.
Advice or a separate service
A free 15-minute assessment identifies your next service; paid 25- or 50-minute consultations address questions during the booked session.
Advance information is reviewed during your appointment, while standalone profile creation, profile review and ITA-stage application review remain separate offers.
But a full application review requires its own agreement.

IRCC Response Management:
Handle follow-up included in the written agreement.
Meet in person, online or by phone. Based in Toronto, we serve clients across Canada and abroad in English, Russian and Armenian.
Document issues we check before submission
The evidence needs to support the qualification being claimed, not simply show that a document exists.
The national FSW service page provides broader service guidance.
Employer letters missing duties or hours
An employer's letter should explain the claimed employment, including dates, weekly hours, compensation and duties.
Check the issuer's details and described work, because a title-only confirmation leaves the primary occupation harder to assess.
But a self-written account does not, by itself, establish the required employment evidence.
Language or education evidence that expires
Test results must be less than two years old at profile creation and PR submission. An immigration ECA must be less than five years old at those stages.
Check both dates before relying on them, because the language-test rules and ECA rules have different validity periods.
Funds records that omit required details
A current balance screenshot does not provide every detail IRCC requests.
And bank letters need account-opening dates, current balances, six-month average balances and outstanding debts, alongside the other required information.
And check legal access and the relevant family size. Holding a work permit alone does not establish the funds exemption.
Eligibility requirements at a glance
These basic requirements identify what your records need to support, while FSW eligibility and Express Entry invitation ranking remain different checks.
For the wider profile and invitation process, read the Express Entry guide.
| Requirement | Basic rule | Record or check |
|---|---|---|
| Qualifying work | At least one continuous year of paid TEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 work within the last ten years. | Use the same NOC as the primary occupation. Establish 1,560 hours without counting more than 30 weekly. Duties must match. |
| Language | At least CLB or NCLC 7 in all four first-language abilities. | Use an approved test with results less than two years old at profile creation and PR submission. |
| Education | A qualifying Canadian secondary or post-secondary credential, or assessed equivalent foreign education. | Foreign education requires an immigration ECA. The assessment must be less than five years old at profile creation and submission. |
| Selection factors | At least 67 out of 100 selection points, alongside minimum requirements. | Verify language, education, work, age, arranged employment and adaptability. This is separate from CRS ranking. |
| Settlement funds | Meet the current funds requirement for your family size unless exempt. | For this exemption, you need a valid job offer and permission to work in Canada. A work permit alone is insufficient. |
| Admissibility and destination | Be admissible to Canada and intend to live outside Quebec. | Your documents must support the intended destination and relevant personal history. |
Federal Skilled Worker Fees and Processing Times
The table covers government charges, excluding professional services, settlement funds and the costs of obtaining your evidence.
| Government fee | Amount (CAD) | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Principal applicant | $1,590 | Adult total, including the right of permanent residence fee. |
| Accompanying spouse or common-law partner | $1,590 | Adult total, including the right of permanent residence fee. |
| Dependent child | $270 per child | For each dependent child included in the application. |
| Biometrics | $85 per person; eligible family maximum $170 | When required. The family maximum applies to an eligible family applying at the same time. |
Tests, an ECA, translations, police certificates and medical examinations can involve additional costs.
And settlement funds are a separate eligibility requirement where applicable, rather than money paid to IRCC.
Processing times
Preparing documents, waiting for an invitation and processing the invited application involve separate timelines, even when preparation begins before profile creation.
Consult IRCC's processing-time tool for the relevant category, allowing for a changing estimate and the possibility of a longer application.
But FSW residence in North York brings no local processing advantage.
Clear fees before you retain us
For Federal Skilled Worker help in North York, choose an in-person, online or phone appointment to discuss the work required.
Before representation starts, your written agreement sets the professional fee and scope.
Government charges and other application costs are separate from that agreement's professional fee.
Federal Skilled Worker Help Across the GTA
You can discuss foreign work records and FSW preparation while living in North York, including Don Mills and Bayview Village.
Choose in-person, online or phone service according to your circumstances.
But your location does not change the federal selection requirements or remove the need for supporting records.
Frequently asked questions
Who qualifies for federal skilled worker?
Candidates must meet FSW's minimum skilled-work, language and education requirements and score at least 67 selection points.
The qualifying work includes one continuous year in the primary occupation within the last ten years. It may be Canadian or foreign experience.
Funds, admissibility and settlement outside Quebec also matter, although meeting these requirements does not guarantee selection from the Express Entry pool.
Is federal skilled worker the same as Express Entry?
Federal Skilled Worker is an immigration program, while Express Entry manages applications for FSW and other federal programs. FSW eligibility is assessed before invitation ranking.
Your profile enters the pool if you meet a program's requirements, but it is not a permanent residence application.
You apply after an invitation, under the program that invitation identifies.
What is the minimum score required to qualify for the Federal skilled worker Program?
The FSW selection threshold is 67 out of 100 points, alongside the minimum program requirements.
The factors cover language, education, work experience, age, arranged employment and adaptability.
This grid differs from the Comprehensive Ranking System used for invitations, so 67 is not a CRS cut-off.
And that selection score does not guarantee an invitation to apply.
How long does IRCC take to approve PR?
IRCC does not guarantee a fixed decision time for an FSW permanent residence application.
Use its current processing-time tool for the relevant economic immigration category.
The displayed estimate concerns application processing, rather than all your preparation or waiting for an invitation.
Your file can take longer, so avoid making plans that depend on an estimated decision date.
How much is the application fee for PR in Canada?
For FSW, the current adult government total is $1,590, including the right of permanent residence fee.
The same adult total applies to an accompanying spouse or partner, while each dependent child costs $270.
Required biometrics cost $85 individually, with an eligible-family maximum of $170 for a joint application.
Professional fees, evidence costs and settlement funds are separate.
