Canadian Experience Class Consultant North York

Canadian Experience Class Consultant North York services help you check the Canadian work experience claimed in your Express Entry profile.

And employment dates, work authorization and language results need to support the same application.

Choose advice about a specific concern or retained preparation that includes your initial profile. Meeting CEC requirements does not guarantee an invitation.

Who is this service for

Your next step depends on the record you have and the stage you have reached.

Workers preparing for a CEC consultation

Bring your work dates, weekly hours, permits and language results, together with the question you need answered.

If letters and pay records show different dates, knowing which period to count can feel uncertain.

And a consultation can address that concern within the booked session.

Workers reviewing changes in employment or status

A new employer, changed duties or a permit transition may affect the employment record you intend to claim.

Separate each period before combining hours, because CEC work must qualify even when all jobs were in Canada.

Candidates with a CEC invitation

Your invitation identifies the program and gives you 60 days to apply.

You may need help preparing the application or a separate review of work you prepared yourself.

And start with the invitation, its deadline and the personalized document checklist.

What Canadian Experience Class Application Support Includes

Retained support includes initial Express Entry profile preparation, followed by the application work and follow-up defined in your agreement.

And you supply complete information and the records needed to support it.

01 Review the work record and CEC fit

Compare employment dates, paid hours and occupations with the Canadian Experience Class requirements. And identify full-time study, self-employment and other periods needing separate treatment before calculating qualifying experience.

02 Match job duties to employment evidence

Check whether your employment evidence supports the selected National Occupational Classification (NOC) code. The CEC duties requirement concerns the work performed, including the lead statement and most main duties. But a matching job title alone does not establish that record.

03 Check authorization and document validity

Compare each claimed work period with its authorization, including where remote work was performed and who employed you. Review language-result dates against both profile creation and PR submission, when results must remain less than two years old.

04 Prepare the initial Express Entry profile

Initial profile creation is included in retained CEC application support. With representation, profiles and applications use the IRCC Portal for authorized paid representatives. But your personal GCKey credentials are not the representative's filing route.

05 Prepare the invited CEC application

Reconcile the profile with the electronic application for permanent residence, supporting records and personalized checklist. Include IMM 5476 when appointing a representative. CEC applicants do not need settlement funds, but IRCC requires an explanation letter for the funds-document field.

06 Post submission support

The written agreement defines covered IRCC requests and responses; work outside that scope needs a separate agreement. But representation cannot determine IRCC's decision or your invitation date.

Choose the support you need

Choose the service around the decision you need to make, rather than the number of documents you have.

CEC consultation

If one work period or a status change is unclear, use a paid consultation to discuss the records and your questions. Paid sessions last 25 or 50 minutes.

And information sent beforehand is reviewed during the appointment.

But the free 15-minute assessment helps identify the service you need; neither appointment automatically includes a full application review.

Retained CEC application support

Retained CEC support includes initial profile creation and preparation across the application stages agreed in your written service agreement.

But standalone profile creation, profile review and ITA-stage application review are distinct published services.

And confirm the deliverables and any IRCC follow-up before retaining the firm.

Document issues we check before submission

These checks connect the experience claimed with the evidence available.

For the wider system, read Express Entry in Canada.

Employer letters missing duties or weekly hours

A letter listing only your title and start date leaves important work details unexplained.

Check the duties, employment dates, weekly hours and compensation against the period claimed.

Other records may support the history, but they do not automatically replace required employment evidence.

Work periods that conflict with authorization records

An employment letter can cover a longer period than the permit used to support the claim.

Compare the actual dates and relevant status records, because only authorized qualifying work counts. Do not assume a later permit makes earlier work eligible.

Language results expiring before PR submission

A valid test at profile creation may expire before you submit the invited application.

And check the test date against the submission deadline early enough to arrange another test if needed. IRCC's language validity rule applies at both stages.

Eligibility requirements at a glance

Use these checks to prepare your questions, because a complete eligibility assessment depends on your circumstances and supporting records.

And the CEC eligibility checklist covers the broader self-check.

Basic Canadian Experience Class requirements
RequirementWhat to verifyImportant qualification
Paid Canadian workTEER 0, 1, 2 or 3 work performed in Canada with authorization under temporary resident status.Remote work requires physical presence in Canada and a Canadian employer. Unpaid work does not count.
Amount and timingAt least one year of qualifying experience within the three years before applying, equivalent to 1,560 hours.Across all jobs, count up to 30 hours in any week. Overtime does not shorten the required period; qualifying experience can be accumulated.
NOC dutiesThe lead statement and most main duties must match the work performed.Experience may come from more than one qualifying NOC.
Excluded workFull-time student work, including co-op, and self-employment generally do not count.A narrow temporary policy concerns certain medical doctors providing publicly funded medical services.
LanguageTEER 0 and 1 require CLB 7 or NCLC 7. TEER 2 and 3 require CLB 5 or NCLC 5.Meet the threshold in all four abilities. Results must be less than two years old at profile creation and PR submission.
Education and settlement fundsCEC has no education minimum or settlement-funds requirement.Education can affect ranking. Upload the CEC exemption letter when the application requests a funds document.
Admissibility and destinationBe admissible to Canada and intend to settle outside Quebec.Work gained in Quebec may count if you demonstrate a genuine intention to settle outside Quebec.

Canadian Experience Class Fees and Processing Times

Government fees are separate from the professional service you retain and from other application costs.

Processing times

Preparing the records, waiting for an invitation and processing a submitted application are separate stages.

Use IRCC's current processing-time tool for the relevant category, while remembering its estimate is not a guaranteed decision date.

But living in North York does not create a separate CEC processing stream.

Frequently asked questions

Who qualifies for the Canadian experience class?

CEC requires a year of eligible paid Canadian work during the three-year period immediately preceding your application.

The CEC requirements also cover authorization, duties, language, admissibility and settlement outside Quebec.

And count no more than 30 hours weekly towards 1,560 hours.

Work during full-time studies usually cannot count, and self-employment is generally excluded. IRCC has a narrow policy for certain medical doctors.

How long does the Canadian experience class take?

CEC has no guaranteed total time from creating a profile to receiving permanent residence. And waiting for an invitation is separate from application processing.

Check the relevant IRCC processing estimate when preparing to submit.

Your invitation allows 60 days for the application; that deadline is not a promise of a decision within 60 days.

Is CLB 7 enough for Express Entry?

CLB 7 meets CEC's minimum English threshold for TEER 0 or 1 work when achieved in all four abilities.

For TEER 2 or 3, CEC requires CLB 5. Federal Skilled Worker requires CLB 7 in all four first-language abilities.

Language scores alone do not establish CEC eligibility, because other requirements also apply.

And meeting program requirements does not guarantee an invitation, because Express Entry ranking is separate.

Do I need proof of funds for Canadian experience class?

Canadian Experience Class applicants do not need settlement funds, but IRCC's application system still requests a funds document.

Upload a letter explaining your CEC invitation instead of leaving the field empty.

If you qualify for several Express Entry programs, check which program your invitation names before relying on the CEC exemption.

How much does it cost to apply for CEC?

For CEC, the current government total is $1,590 for the principal applicant, including the right of permanent residence fee.

Accompanying spouses or common-law partners also pay $1,590, and the charge for each dependent child is $270.

And biometrics add $85 per person when required, with a $170 maximum for an eligible family applying together.

Professional services and document-related costs are separate.
