Post Graduation Work Permit Consultant Toronto
Post Graduation Work Permit Toronto support helps you avoid application errors under the 2026 eligibility and document rules. Mirzoyan Immigration Services helps graduates prepare and file their applications with a licensed Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC).
Your program and application dates determine which language and field-of-study requirements apply. You have up to 180 days after confirmation of program completion to apply. But that deadline does not extend your status or automatically authorize you to work. We check your study permit and completion records together so you can address gaps before submission.
✓ Avoid missed deadlines with a review of your completion and status dates.
✓ Catch missing or inconsistent documents before submission.
✓ Work directly with the licensed consultant preparing your application.
Who is this service for
Recent graduates approaching the filing window
Your final results are available, and you need to turn them into a complete application. The first task is to establish when completion was confirmed. Waiting for a graduation ceremony can leave less time than you expect. We compare the school’s records with your study permit and proposed filing date. That review helps identify what must be resolved before submission.
Graduates with expiring or expired study permits
You may still have a route forward if your study permit has expired, but it needs a separate status assessment. We check when your status ended and whether restoration is available. We also check whether you remain within the PGWP application period. A restoration application does not authorize work while you wait. Review the IRCC application and restoration instructions before relying on either deadline.
Graduates unsure which current rules apply
Advice given to a friend may not apply to your credential or application dates. University certificates, degrees and college diplomas can have different requirements. A program’s name alone may not establish its field-of-study eligibility. We review the actual credential and supporting school records. You can then identify the evidence your application needs before paying for missing tests or documents.
What PGWP Application Support Includes
What PGWP Application Support Includes
01
Identify the applicable PGWP rules
We start with your institution, credential and complete study history. Your study-permit application dates help establish which requirements apply. Transfers, leave and part-time terms need to be understood in context. We identify any eligibility concern before preparing the application. You receive advice based on your records and the current PGWP requirements.
02
Check the application window and status route
Your application deadline and your permission to remain in Canada are separate questions. We compare completion confirmation with your study permit and any later status documents. If your status has ended, we assess whether a restoration route remains available. The review also identifies any period when work must stop. Our restoration-of-status guide explains that separate process.
03
Map the required evidence
We connect each applicable requirement to the record that supports it. That can include your transcript, completion evidence, passport, language results and program information. Missing records are identified before the file is assembled. Conflicting dates or descriptions need to be resolved, not silently changed. The aim is an application whose forms and supporting documents tell the same factual story.
04
Prepare the agreed application
Your written agreement sets out the preparation and filing work you retain us to complete. We prepare the relevant forms and organize the supporting records. You review the information for accuracy before submission. Any unresolved question is addressed before the agreed application is filed. You know which work is included and which additional services would need separate authorization.
05
Explain work authorization while IRCC decides
We assess whether you meet every condition for working while your application is pending. You must have held a valid study permit when applying and completed your program. You must also have qualified for off-campus work during studies and stayed within the permitted hours. If these conditions are not met, a pending PGWP application does not authorize work. Under IRCC’s work-while-waiting rules, you must stop working when notified of a refusal.
06
Handle agreed follow-up
The service agreement identifies the follow-up we will handle after filing. This may include reviewing an IRCC request and preparing the agreed response. You still need to provide requested records and report relevant changes. We explain any deadline connected to a request we are retained to handle. A later refusal review, new permit application or permanent residence file may require a separate agreement.

Choose the support you need
PGWP planning consultation
Choose a consultation when you need advice about eligibility, status or the next filing step. Bring your main questions and the documents connected to them. A paid 25- or 50-minute appointment provides time for advice within the booked scope. The documents that can be reviewed depend on the appointment length and their volume. A full application review requires a separate service agreement.
Application preparation and filing
Choose retained application support when you want a licensed consultant to prepare and file the agreed PGWP application. We establish the scope before work begins. The agreement identifies the professional fee and included services. It also distinguishes application work from government charges and third-party costs. You can compare our services and fees before deciding how to proceed.
A licensed RCIC is subject to professional-conduct obligations and the College’s complaints and discipline processes. You can verify a consultant’s licence before retaining them. Representation provides accountable assistance; IRCC still decides the application.

Document issues we check before submission
For the broader program overview, read our post-graduation work permit service page. The checks below connect those requirements to your actual records.
Completion dates that do not align
Your completion letter and transcript may describe different stages of finishing the program. We establish which record confirms that the academic requirements were completed. A convocation date should not replace an earlier completion confirmation. If a school record is inaccurate or unclear, ask the institution to correct or clarify it. We use the supporting records to explain the date entered in the application.
Status and passport records
The expiry date printed on your study permit is not the only date that matters. A study permit can become invalid 90 days after studies end, or earlier in other circumstances. We check completion, status and passport records together. Passport expiry can also limit the length of a PGWP that would otherwise be available. Addressing those dates early helps you plan the application and any necessary passport renewal.
Language and field-of-study evidence
The online checklist may describe language results as optional even when your application requires them. Required field-of-study evidence may not appear as a separate checklist item. We compare the generated checklist with the instructions for your particular program. Where required, field-of-study proof belongs in the “Client Information” upload. The IRCC upload instructions explain these system limitations.
Eligibility requirements at a glance
Use this table to identify the records and questions to bring to your consultation. It summarizes the main checks; your full study and status history still matters.
| Requirement | What must be checked | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Institution and program | Your school and specific program must qualify for a PGWP. | Being enrolled at a designated learning institution does not establish eligibility on its own. |
| Program length | Generally, at least eight months of eligible study; certain Quebec credentials use a 900-hour threshold. | Accelerated studies, combined programs and eligible master’s degrees need a separate duration assessment. |
| Study history | Full-time study during the required academic sessions. | A final part-time semester may qualify. Authorized leave and distance learning have specific rules. |
| Application timing | Apply within 180 days of confirmation that you completed your studies. | Your study permit must have been valid at some point during that period. Current status needs a separate assessment. |
| Language results | Required scores depend on your credential category. Approved results must cover all four language skills. | Eligible flight-school graduates are exempt. Check the test type, score and validity before filing. |
| Field of study | Where required, match the program to an eligible six-digit Classification of Instructional Programs (CIP) code. | Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees are exempt. Study-permit applications before November 1, 2024 also have an exemption. |
| Previous PGWP and passport | Confirm whether you have already received a PGWP and how long your passport remains valid. | A second credential does not create a second PGWP entitlement. Passport expiry can shorten an otherwise eligible permit. |
Combining two programs or relying on an accelerated program can change the duration assessment. An eligible master’s degree may support a three-year permit even when the program lasted less than two years. These possibilities depend on meeting the applicable program and permit-length rules. Passport validity can still shorten the permit. If you are also planning permanent residence, see our separate PGWP-to-PR guide.
PGWP Government Fees and Processing Times
Government application charges are separate from the professional fee for preparing your file. The standard PGWP application includes two government fees.
| Fee item | When it applies | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Work permit processing | Standard PGWP application | $155 |
| Open work permit holder | Additional fee for the open permit | $100 |
| Standard application total | Before biometrics, restoration or other applicable charges | $255 |
| Biometrics, per person | Only when new biometrics are required | $85 |
Restoration, language testing and medical examinations can add costs where applicable. We identify the relevant charges after reviewing your situation. Professional fees are addressed separately below.
Processing estimates change. Check IRCC’s current processing-time tool for your application type and location. The estimate is not a guaranteed decision date. Additional document requests or other checks can affect your file. Permission to work while waiting depends on your circumstances, not the estimated processing time.
Clear Fees Before You Retain Us
Your written service agreement sets out the PGWP work, the flat professional fee and the payment terms. Government fees and outside costs are identified separately. A consultation does not automatically include application preparation or a complete document review. If your needs change, additional work must be agreed before it begins. See our professional fees and use the consultation to clarify the support your file needs.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the new rules for PGWP?
Bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral and other university graduates need level 7 in all four language skills. Other college, polytechnic and non-university graduates need level 5. These are CLB benchmarks for English and NCLC for French. IRCC’s rules exempt bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral graduates from field-of-study requirements. Eligible flight-school graduates are exempt from both language and field-of-study requirements.
How many years of PGWP will I get?
A PGWP may last up to three years, depending on your program and passport validity. Shorter programs generally support a shorter permit. An eligible master’s program of at least eight months may support three years, provided you meet the remaining requirements. Certificate and diploma programs do not receive that master’s exception. IRCC’s duration rules also address combined programs and passport limits.
How long does it take to process a PGWP application in 2026?
There is no fixed processing time that applies to every PGWP application in 2026. Use IRCC’s live processing-time tool for the applicable route and location. The estimate can change while your file is pending. It does not establish permission to work. That question depends on whether you met the separate work-authorization conditions when applying.
How much does a PGWP work permit cost?
The standard government application total is $255: $155 for processing and $100 for the open work permit holder fee. Biometrics cost another $85 if required. Restoration and third-party expenses are separate where applicable. Professional representation is also a separate cost. Check the IRCC fee list before payment so you use the correct categories.
What documents do I need for PGWP?
You need completion evidence, study records and the identity and status documents required for your application route. Language and field-of-study proof may also apply. IRCC accepts several forms of completion evidence, including an official school letter or transcript. Language results must be less than two years old when submitted. An optional label in the online checklist does not waive a mandatory requirement.
