Who is this service for

A Super Visa gives eligible parents and grandparents more time with family in Canada. We help both the visiting parent or grandparent and the child or grandchild inviting them.

Parents and grandparents planning a longer visit

You live outside Canada and want to spend an extended period with your children or grandchildren here. We help you understand the application, medical examination and insurance requirements for your visit.

Children and grandchildren inviting family

You want your parent or grandparent to visit you in North York. As the host, you provide an invitation and evidence of your status, relationship and financial support.

Families preparing the application together

The parent or grandparent applies from outside Canada, while the host gathers supporting records here. We bring both sides of the application together and check them against IRCC’s requirements.

What Super Visa Application Support Includes

01

Host, family-size and income-option check

We check the host’s eligibility, calculate the family size and assess the available income options. This establishes which financial records your family needs before the application is prepared.

02

Invitation and income evidence

We prepare the invitation letter and organize the evidence of financial support. The host confirms the household details, proposed visit and commitment to support the parent or grandparent.

03

Qualifying insurer and policy review

We check the purchased policy against IRCC’s coverage and insurer requirements. Your family arranges and pays for the insurance; a quote alone does not meet the requirement.

04

Medical and applicant documents

We identify the applicant’s identity, relationship and visit records and explain the medical examination requirements. If biometrics are needed, the applicant follows IRCC’s instruction letter before booking an appointment.

05

Application from outside Canada

We prepare the application using the submission route for represented applicants. The parent or grandparent must apply from outside Canada and follow any instructions for visa printing abroad.

06

Post submission support

We handle application updates and responses included in your written agreement. Your consultant explains any additional documents IRCC requests and the deadlines for providing them.

The Mirzoyan Methodology

Six review stages organize the work on your file:

  • Risk Diagnosis: Identify eligibility concerns and the correct application route.

  • Evidence Mapping: Connect the required facts with the records that support them.

  • Document Verification: Check documents against the applicable instructions.

  • Consistency Audit: Compare travel dates, status periods, tax details and form histories.

  • Submission: Prepare the application for the permitted filing route.

  • IRCC Response Management: Handle follow-up included in the written agreement.

Meet in person, online or by phone. Based in Toronto, we serve clients across Canada and abroad in English, Russian and Armenian.

Document issues we check before submission

Some records can look complete while leaving a requirement unproven. We check what each record establishes against the IRCC document checklist.

Invitation and counted family members

The invitation must identify everyone counted in the family size and include a promise of financial support. We compare these details with the income records so the application presents one consistent household calculation.

Tax years and continuing parent income

We check the tax years used against the selected income option and the current minimum for the family size. If the applicant’s income is included, its proof must state the currency and show that it will continue in Canada.

Foreign insurer and issuing business

A foreign insurer must meet IRCC’s additional requirements, including OSFI authorization for accident and sickness insurance. We check the issuing insurer, its Canadian insurance business and the required policy statement; a broker’s name is not enough.

Coverage period, deposit and translations

Coverage must last at least one year from entry and be paid in full or by instalments with a deposit. We also check proof of payment and required translations; the applicant must have valid insurance for each entry.

Eligibility requirements at a glance

The parent or grandparent and the host in Canada must both meet the requirements. Use this summary to plan the documents your family needs.

Host and applicant conditions for the parent or grandparent visit category
ConditionEvidence or requirement
Host age, residence and statusThe Canadian child or grandchild is 18 or older, resides in Canada and holds citizenship, permanent residence or registered Indian status.
Parent or grandparent applicantEstablish the biological or adoptive relationship. Submit separate applications for each visiting parent or grandparent; accompanying dependants are not included.
Accepted income routeMeet the applicable family-size threshold using an approved income method. Only the host’s qualifying spouse or common-law partner can act as co-signer.
Immigration medical examThe applicant undergoes the required examination by an IRCC-approved panel physician.
Qualifying health coverageThe policy covers at least one year from entry and CAD $100,000 or more in emergency benefits. Confirm coverage for healthcare, hospitalization and repatriation. It must satisfy insurer, benefit and payment rules.
Temporary visit from abroadThe parent applies outside Canada and demonstrates a temporary purpose, adequate support and intended departure at the end of the permitted stay.

Under the rules effective March 31, 2026, hosts may demonstrate the entire required amount using either of two prior taxation years.

The second route uses the host’s and any eligible co-signer’s income from the previous tax year. Together, that income must reach at least 75% of the current minimum required for the family size. The applying parent may supply the balance through income that continues during the Canadian stay. Co-signing is limited to the host’s qualifying spouse or common-law partner. Check the selected route and household total using IRCC’s financial-support guidance before collecting proof.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost for a super visa?

For a visa-required parent, a Super Visa application costs CAD $100, with CAD $85 for biometrics when required. Qualifying medical insurance and a panel-physician examination have separate provider prices. Eligible visa-exempt applicants pay neither the application nor biometrics fee. Consult IRCC’s application guidance for the process and the published professional fee schedule for assistance costs. A booked consultation does not include application preparation.

How long does it take to get a Canada super visa in India in 2026?

A Super Visa application from India has a changing country-specific estimate, rather than a fixed 2026 processing period. Select India in IRCC’s processing-times tool when planning the application. The estimate excludes biometrics time, and additional requests can affect an individual file. A North York host’s address does not shorten that queue. Follow IRCC’s after-application instructions before arranging travel.

What is the new rule for super visa IRCC?

The March 31, 2026 income change gives Super Visa hosts two ways to qualify. The first option uses one of the last two tax years to prove the entire required amount. Under the second option, the host and eligible co-signer need prior-year income reaching 75% of the current minimum. Continuing income from the applying parent can supply the remainder. Insurance conditions still apply. Check IRCC’s current financial-support instructions.

How long is a super visa issued for?

A Super Visa may allow multiple entries for up to ten years. Each authorized stay can last up to five years. Visa validity and permitted stay are different. Biometrics validity and the entry decision can limit what you receive. Keep qualifying insurance valid for every entry and during the visit. Check visa validity, biometrics limits, permitted stays and insurance obligations with IRCC.

Can I work in Canada if I have a super visa?

A parent cannot work in Canada solely because they hold a Super Visa. It provides temporary visitor status for an eligible parent or grandparent, not a work permit or permanent residence. If work is planned, assess the applicable authorization before starting. A host’s support or a long permitted stay does not create work permission. IRCC states that most visitors need a work permit. Assess the activity’s authorization before choosing an application route.
